Costa Rica offers an affordable and exciting place to live if you would like to move abroad. Housing is affordable, spoken English is very common, and for the most part infrastructure is very similar to Western standards. Depending on which lifestyle you choose it can be comfortable to live on around $2,500USD a month.

Costa Rica is a very welcoming country and its people (Ticos) are very friendly and warm people that are open to retirees and expats. It is a country renowned for its political stability and is proud that they abolished their military many years ago. There are endless beaches and lush rainforests with a heap of national parks to explore.  It is a very tranquil nation with good safety and offers expats a style of community life that can be hard to find back home.

A lot of moving to a new country is the unknown and not knowing many people. However, you can be safe in the knowledge that there is grand sense of community in Costa Rica.  There is an active community of expats that integrate well into Costa Rican culture and connect frequently for meet ups and coffee. When moving to Costa Rica you won’t be leaving too much behind. There are a number of good phone companies that offer strong service, with cable, internet and satellite TV being readily available.
